In the School of Communication & Media Arts at Sacred Heart University, we believe in the power of stories and we invite you to join the ranks of the most influential storytellers: the media. Our graduate programs are designed for learning in the twenty-first century. They combine the traditional classroom experience with hands-on learning and professional experiences. Our faculty is comprised of established scholars and award-winning professionals with experience in every sector of the communications and media industry that will guide students through individualized programs of study. In addition to teaching courses in our graduate programs, we also regularly invite outside industry professionals to serve as mentors and offer career preparation and skill development workshops.
All four of our 36-credit professional graduate programs operate on an eight-week module calendar. This means that full time students can complete a graduate program in as little as one year and part-time students can complete their degree in two years.
In the School of Communication & Media Arts, our graduate programs are grounded in a cutting-edge curriculum that combines hands-on learning with professional opportunities. As part of MACOMM, FTMA, MLDC and SCM student work is distributed, broadcast, and published through various media outlets. This provides our students with the ability to showcases their unique talents and abilities as storytellers and content creators.

Student-Made Sports Video Goes Viral
The video below was the result of a new project this year where undergraduates in the communication program, graduate students in the MACOMM program and MACOMM alumni came together to produce broadcasts of SHU’s 2013 football games. In previous weeks, their coverage of the games has appeared throughout Connecticut on CPTV. This specific video has attracted 2,244,580 YouTube views to date and was featured on ESPN's SportsCenter Top Ten plays the following day. Check it out for yourself!
