DeeVa Frankel

DeeVa Frankel, DPM

Dr. DeeVa Frankel, Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. After Sacred Heart, she attended Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine graduating in 2014 when she began a 3-year surgical residency in foot and ankle surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Currently DeeVa serves as Chief Resident.


Kevin Hess

Kevin Hess

Kevin Hess graduated from Sacred Heart in 2015 with a double major in Biology (concentration in Cellular and Molecular Biology) and Chemistry (concentration in Biochemistry). He is currently a 3rd year medical student at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Kevin will graduate in 2019 and hopes to practice in Pediatrics. Kevin is very active in service and is the Community Service Chair of the Student Pediatric Medical Association, Community Service Chair of the Cardiology Club, Senior Student Ambassador, Junior Doctor in the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Clinic, Tutor for OMM, Microbiology, Physiology, and Neuroscience.


Colin Smith

Lieutenant Colin Smith, MD

Lieutenant Colin Smith, MD graduated from Sacred Heart in 2011 with a major in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience and a minor in Psychology, Chemistry and Honors. After attending Sacred Heart, Colin entered the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine. After completion of his MD degree, he became Resident Physician at the U.S. Public Health Service-Indian Health Services. Currently, Colin is a Resident in Combined Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center. Colin states that “his dual role as medical officer in the USPHS (Indian Health Service) and resident in Internal Medicine-Psychiatry has given me the opportunity to put into practice the unique mission of SHU - to promote the common good and serve others. I have been blessed to practice medicine and conduct clinical research in various settings, including sub Saharan Africa, on reservations in the American southwest, and across the military healthcare system and veteran’s health administration.”


Neil Doppler

Neil Doppler

Neil Doppler graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2015 with a double major in Biology (concentration in Cellular and Molecular Biology) and Chemistry (concentration in Biochemistry). He is currently a 3rd year optometry student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry and will graduate in May 2019. Neil plans to focus his practice on Low Vision and Ocular Disease. Neil is currently a member of the American Optometric Student Association Board of Trustees.


Brianna Arpie-Otfinoski

Brianna Arpie-Otfinoski, PharmD

Dr. Brianna Arpie-Otfinoski, PharmD graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2010 with a major in Biology. After graduating from SHU, Brianna attended Touro College of Pharmacy and was a member of the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honors Society. While in Pharmacy school, she worked in a busy NYC hospital and “loved every minute of it-especially working in the IV room, it was like being in chemistry lab all the time!” Brianna recently took a job at a psychiatric hospital. She will be performing a pharmacy residency in hopes of specializing in psychiatric pharmacy.

Angela Luberto, DVM

Dr. Angela Luberto, DVM graduated from SHU in 2009 with a double major in Biology (Ecology and Conservation concentration) and Environmental Science with a minor in Chemistry. After graduating from Sacred Heart, Angela attended Western University of Health Sciences graduating with a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2014. Angela completed a small animal rotating internship at Veterinary Specialists of Connecticut. Currently, Angela practices Emergency and General Practice medicine with a strong interest in ultrasonography.


‌‌Nicole DaSilva

Nicole DaSilva, PharmD

Dr. Nicole DaSilva, PharmD graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2012 with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She attended Western New England University College of Pharmacy and received her PharmD in 2017. Nicole has a strong interest in working with patients with diabetes in an ambulatory care setting. Her interest in ambulatory care stemmed from being Operation Diabetes Chair for American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists chapter at her Pharmacy School. She loved working with patients with diabetes and educating others about diabetes. She was elected into the position of Patient Care Vice President gaining experience in managing operations and expanding patient care events into the community. Nicole states about Sacred Heart “I really valued my time as a student at SHU and I believe it prepared me very well to go on into a professional program.”

Angela Parlo, PharmD

Dr. Angela Parlo, PharmD graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2012 with a major in Biology and a minor Chemistry. After graduation she attended Western New England University College of Pharmacy and received her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2016. While at Western New England, Angela served as the President of the Class of 2016 and was as a member of the Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity. Currently, Angela practices at an independent Pharmacy in Brooklyn, NY.


‌‌Meagan Lynch

Meagan Lynch, PA-C

Meagan Lynch, PA-C graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2012 with a Biology major (Neuroscience concentration) and minors in Chemistry and Psychology. While at SHU, Meagan served as President of Biology Club and Theta Phi Alpha Fraternity and was involved in a number of community service groups including Habitat for Humanity and Best Buddies CT. Meagan attended Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences-Physician Assistant Program graduating in 2016 with an interest in orthopedics. While in PA school, she served for the SAAAPA (Student Academy of the American Academy of Physician Assistants). Currently Meagan works at Summit Medical Group in New Jersey as an Orthopedic Surgery PA.

Joseph C. Lugo, MD

Dr. Joseph C. Lugo, MD graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2011 with a major in Biology (Neuroscience Concentration) and minors in Chemistry, Psychology and Honors. While at SHU, Dr. Lugo participated in a number of academic, honorary and community service based clubs and organizations, but spent significant time with Habitat for Humanity, Community Connections and Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Dr. Lugo attended St. George’s University School of Medicine graduating with his MD in 2016. Currently Dr. Lugo is performing his Residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Family Medicine and Community Health.

Lisa DeCicco, PA-C

Lisa DeCicco, PA-C graduated from Sacred Heart in 2011 with a major in Exercise Science and served as the President of the Exercise Science Club from 2010-2011. After graduation, she attended Pace University - Lenox Hill Hospital Physician Assistant Program graduating in 2013 with a focus on Burns and Anesthesiology.  Lisa started as a full time PA in the Burn Unit at Staten Island University Hospital managing very critical patients. Lisa states “Helping people at such vulnerable times in their lives puts things in perspective and made me appreciate how fortunate I have been to be able to go to a great college, complete graduate school and have great family and friends to share this crazy life with!”

Tony Pastore, PA-C graduated from Sacred Heart in 2013 with a major in Exercise Science. He then attended Pace University - Lenox Hill Hospital Physician Assistant Program graduating in 2016 with a focus on Orthopaedic Surgery/Sports Medicine. Currently, Tony works at Orthopaedic Specialty Group, P.C. in Fairfield, CT.
