Student Learning Outcomes

The student who completes the major in Theology and Religious Studies will:

  • Identify and explain generally accepted theories of religion.

  • Demonstrate understanding of Catholicism, including its doctrines, practices, and methods of reasoning (theology).

  • Demonstrate understanding of a religious tradition other than Christianity, including its doctrines, practices, and methods of reasoning.

  • Thoroughly analyze a question in theology or religious studies and defend a position on this question, using field-appropriate interpretive methods.
