Pioneer Choir

Pioneer Choir

This larger ensemble is designed to survey a wide variety of great choral repertoire. In order to accommodate students, it is the only for-credit choir that rehearses in a block time period. Especially geared to be a rewarding experience, the choir focuses on interesting and exciting music from a number of musical styles and periods. Our choral goal is to achieve a warm, cohesive and blended sound. Often, this choir is invited to perform at University colloquia and is a major musical component of the annual “Christmas Extravaganza,” and the annual classical and pops concerts in the spring. Most recently, they participated in the “Bridgeport Interfaith Thanksgiving Service” the poignant “Kristallnacht” commemoration service and at a special concert for seniors at the Blackrock Congregational Church (CT). The choir features a collegial and warm environment in which to have fun learning to be a better singer and musician.

No formal audition is required except for a short vocal placement interview by appointment.
