Bert has been the director of the Sacred Heart University Guard program since 2013 and helped the Winterguard return to WGI Championships finals after a gap of over ten years. His marching experience includes Norwalk High School, the Suburbanettes (1995), Cadets (1995, 1996 - Silver & Bronze medalist), Atlanta Olympic Games (1996), and Emerald Marquis Winterguard (1996, 1997, 2000, 2001 - Silver & Bronze medalist). Before coming to Sacred Heart, Bert taught with many programs including CT Hurricanes (1999-2002), Norwalk HS, Trumbull HS, Cheshire HS, and Terpsichore (2003 - WGI IA Champions).
Gail’s drum corps background includes marching with the Golden Buccaneers, Emerald Buccaneers of Bridgeport and the Milford Shoreliners (1974 – 1977 respectively). From 1978 through 1982 Gail performed with the Connecticut Skylarks Winter Color Guard. In 1979 Gail joined the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum & Bugle Corps and was a member of the guard from 1979 through 1984 and again from 1990 through 1997. In addition, Gail served in various capacities with the Hurricanes including color guard captain from 1995 through 1997 and Corps Personnel Director in 1996 and 1997 and guard/marching instructor from 1998 through 2002.
Gail has been a guard instructor for numerous organizations including the Silver Falcons Winter Guard, Brien McMahon HS Marching Band, Norwalk; Masuk HS Marching Band and Winter Guard, Monroe, Norwalk HS Marching Band and Class A Winter Guard, Norwalk, Connecticut Hurricanes Drum & Bugle Corps and Sacred Heart University Winter Guard.

Syreeta Shelley was born and raised in Norwalk, CT. She started her marching career with Norwalk High School Marching Band and Winterguard. The winterguard was Scholastic Open Finalists through all of her years in high school. Syreeta was then captain her senior year.
After graduating from high school she then continued her passion to march. She marched with the Hawthorne Caballeros for a summer. Syreeta loved winterguard and decided to audition for Blessed Sacrament which became her family and marched there for 4 years, 2001-2004 and was captain 2003 & 2004. Throughout her years at Sac she marched with the Cadets of Bergen County in 2001 and Connecticut Hurricanes in 2002 & 2003.
Syreeta taught the Norwalk High School Marching Band and the Scholastic Open Finalists winterguard from 2000-2016. She also taught Fusion Core Colorguard in 2014 & 2015.
Sally Hong teaches Dance Movement for Guard as well as movement for the winter guard. She has previously taught Tap, Musical Theatre Dance, Kickline, and Dance for Musical Theatre II here at Sacred Heart University. Professionally, Sally was a Radio City Rockette for six seasons and in that capacity appeared on Donny & Marie and twice on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno . She also performed on Broadway in Flower Drum Song and in the National Tours of The King and I (Fan Dancer), Flower Drum Song (Dance Captain), and 42nd Street, as well as in 13 regional musical productions. She graduated magna cum laude from USC with a BA in Theatre and has been teaching nationally for over 20 years. She is currently the Director of Dance at Notre Dame Catholic High School of Fairfield.
