Liturgical Choir

Liturgical Choir

This choir is a large SATB group of committed singers who rehearse and provide music for the Sunday 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Masses in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit located on campus. A wide variety of uplifting music is offered in the spirit of prayer. The music used includes a mix of contemporary and traditional hymns, anthems and service music, up-tempo as well as more traditional in style, all a part of the great heritage of Catholic sacred music. Our goal is to enhance the liturgy and encourage the participation of all in attendance. Music is learned weekly at Wednesday rehearsals in the Chapel. Members receive training in vocal production and musical skills to better improve their talents.

In addition, there are many opportunities to serve as a soloist or cantor at the regular Sunday Masses at 12:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and other scheduled times, as well as at various other liturgies, services, retreats and University events. The Liturgical Choir is featured in many of our Choral Program Concerts, as well.

The choir is a rewarding experience and is a fantastic way to interact and connect with others who are also interested in sharing their musical talent to serve the community. Percussionists, guitarists and all other instrumentalists are invited to audition to participate as an instrumental member.

No formal audition is required except for a short vocal placement interview by appointment.
