Geared for the student with strong mathematical skills and an interest in programming or network security. You will be introduced to programming languages, problem-solving techniques, and database design.

Is an Associate in Computer Science right for me?
We recommend this program to high school graduates who wish to begin a career quickly or to SHU students currently majoring in a similar field (such as mathematics). In fact, we’ve found that many of our students earning an AS are already in the workforce.
Will I have internship opportunities?
Yes, both on campus and with nearby companies. We offer on-campus internships in the Factory (our computer support center) and the Network Operations Center. We also work with area companies to place students in a variety of internships.

Are there special admission requirements?
No, we have an open admission policy. Incoming first-year students and transfer students may declare Associate of Computer Science when you apply for admission to Sacred Heart University.
