Nancy Newill Doniger

Professor Doniger worked in marketing for eight years after graduating from college and began a new career in journalism while raising her three children. She has been a correspondent for the Connecticut Post, The New York Times Connecticut section, Business Digest and other publications and was hired as editor of the Monroe Courier at Hometown Publication in 1996. In 2002 she was promoted to managing editor and continued in that capacity when Hersam Acorn Newspapers purchased Hometown Publications in 2007. She recently became Easton Courier editor.

Nancy served on the board of directors of the New England Newspaper and Press Association, and she presented a workshop on media ethics with Professor Nicholas Daniloff of Northeastern University at the 2010 Better Newspaper convention in Boston. She worked on a team to develop editorial track workshops for the Association of Community Papers convention in New Orleans in 2007, where she also co-presented a workshop on packaging the news for readability and interest.  She is a long-time member and past president of the Barnard Club of Connecticut.
