Safety & Supervision

CampusThe campus of Sacred Heart University is an extremely safe campus situated in the suburb of north Fairfield. In addition, six College student mentors, the Director of the Institute, the Coordinator of Diocesan Youth Programs, SHU Faculty, SHU Residence Hall Directors will be part of the  Institute day and evening.

The residence hall accommodations will be separated by gender--young men and women will stay in separate areas. Dr. Michelle Loris, Director of the Institute and Evan Psencik, Coordinator of Youth Programs for the Diocese, the six College Mentors, and Residence Hall Director will be in the Residence Hall throughout the week, day and evening with these high school youth. No one is allowed in the Residence Hall other than SHU Journey participants and staff.

All SHU Journey faculty and staff members will have completed the VIRTUS training for the Diocese. Sacred Heart University security will be on campus throughout the week. The Institute Director, the Coordinator of Youth programs for the Diocese, Faculty, Staff, and College Student Mentors will accompany and be in attendance with the high school youth throughout the week, in every activity, day and evening.
