Sacred Heart University’s doctorate of business administration program was ranked one of the best in the state and in the nation by College Choice, an independent online publication dedicated to helping students and their families find the right college.

For many students a doctoral program is necessary to meet career goals or to advance in executive leadership within a corporate structure, according to the publication.

“This is great news,” said John Chalykoff, dean of the Jack Welch College of Business. “Our faculty works hard to prepare students for the careers they desire. The courses are in our doctorate program are rigorous and enlightening.”

The doctorate of business administration program at SHU focuses on developing knowledge with direct global business applications and prepares graduates for executive careers in business and financial institutions, consulting firms, government agencies or academic careers that require an equivalent of a Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution.

“Students gain global perspective on issues related to financial markets; they learn to appreciate the high ethical standards and values of finance professionals; they demonstrate the creation of new knowledge through original research and acquire advance knowledge in finance,” said Lucjan Orlowski, director of the program.

College Choice’s rankings take into account reputation, graduation rates, selectivity and faculty resources.
