A Moderate Recovery and Its Discontents
On Thursday, September 29, at 12:30 p.m., Tanweer Akram, director of Global Policy & Economics at Thrivent Financial, will be the guest speaker as part of the Welch College of Business’ Research Seminar Series. The title of his talk is, “A Moderate Recovery and Its Discontents.” It will take place in the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts.
Abstract: The U.S. economy has recovered since the Great Recession, but the pace of recovery has been disappointing. The current growth rate is notably below historical trends. This lecture examines the characteristics of the moderate recovery ongoing and its discontents.
