Sacred Heart University Ranks in Bloomberg’s Best Undergraduate Business Schools

News Story: April 22, 2016

Sacred Heart University’s Jack Welch College of Business (WCOB) has once again made Bloomberg’s Best Undergraduate Business Schools ranking.

A total of 114 undergraduate business schools were in the rankings released this week by Bloomberg, a global business and financial information leader. Rankings are based off data collected from an employer survey and a student survey. Bloomberg also looks at starting salaries and internships. Nearly 30,000 students and recruiters from 600 companies were surveyed for the listing, according to Bloomberg.

“We are very pleased to be included in the Bloomberg list of top undergraduate business schools again this year,” said WCOB Dean John Chalykoff. “We are proud of the College of Business, its top-tier faculty and its students who have goals and ambitions for their business careers. We are proud of the work they accomplish and always look forward to hearing about the internships and jobs they land each year.”

“Every year, students around the country compete for a head start on conquering the corporate world by studying business in college. Since 2006, we have ranked undergraduate business programs to help guide prospective college students and their families in choosing the right degree program for the career they want,” Bloomberg stated.

Students in SHU’s WCOB participate in the Welch College Experience. This unique program offers students a wide range of opportunities, including networking functions, the ability to start and run a business on campus, participation in golf outings and the chance to listen to and visit with corporate leaders. All students enrolled in the WCOB are required to participate in at least one internship to aid in discovering the environments and careers best suited to their skills. Freshman business students are required to work together on teams to develop a business plan for a new business or product and to present then in a Shark Tank-like format. The WCOB also provides opportunities for students to travel, study overseas and gain experience in today’s global marketplace.
