Matthew J. Longcore recently joined Sacred Heart University as director of Graduate Admissions for the Stamford Graduate Center located at Landmark Square. In this role, he will be leading and managing the admissions and student recruitment process for several of SHU’s new graduate programs offered in Stamford. Among these new programs are a doctorate in business administration (DBA) in finance, a master’s degree in digital marketing and a master’s degree in human resource management.

“Sacred Heart offers a wide range of graduate programs that enable students to launch a new career or advance in their current field,” Longcore said. “I’m looking forward to interacting with both prospective and current students to help them make the right decision for their long-term goals.”

Longcore has extensive experience in higher education administration, primarily in the areas of enrollment management, admissions and student recruitment. He has also taught management and career counseling courses to both undergraduate and graduate students at colleges and universities in Connecticut and New York.

Longcore earned a master’s degree in management from Harvard University. He also holds a master’s degree in education from Fairfield University and a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Trinity College in Hartford.

Longcore is a native of Fairfield County and said he has been familiar with Sacred Heart’s strong reputation and substantial growth. “It is exciting to expand our graduate programs in downtown Stamford, the corporate hub of Fairfield County and an important center of economic development in the State of Connecticut. We have a tremendous opportunity for growth and expansion in Stamford,” he said.
