Beauvais Receives 2013 Ruth M. Olson Excellence in Nursing Education Award
The Connecticut League for Nursing hosted its 24th Annual Nursing Leadership Convention at St. Clements Castle in Portland, Connecticut. The June 7, 2013 convention focused on supporting nurses statewide to utilize their expertise, talents and in-depth understanding of patient-centered care to positively impact the health of Connecticut residents.
Each year, awards are given to nursing leaders who have contributed significantly to the profession. We are proud to announce Audrey M. Beauvais, DNP, MSN, MBA, RN-BC – Director of Undergraduate Nursing Program and Assistant Professor at Sacred Heart University and the Coordinator of Patient Care Service Administration Masters Track was the recipient of the 2013 Ruth M. Olson Excellence in Nursing Education Award.
Ruth M. Olson was the founding president of the Connecticut League for Nursing and an exemplar leader who possessed attributes including a:
- High level knowledge in nursing education
- Commitment to teaching and dedication to the profession
- Success in inspiring students to pursue additional degrees, continuing education and to become active in local and state nursing organizations
Audrey M. Beauvais, embodies all these attributes – an unwavering commitment to academic excellence; an exemplar educator focusing on addressing student’s needs to promote academic success, and in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm for her courses. These are just some of the attributes that describe this recipient. Moreover, Audrey instills the love of learning in her students by using various modalities and reflective teaching strategies to inspire students to do their best.
