Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions Elected Vice President of NEGAP
Ariana Balayan, assistant director of Graduate Admissions at Sacred Heart University, was elected last week as vice president of NEGAP, the New England Association for Graduate Enrollment Management. She will serve a two-year term on the board.
Balayan previously served the organization as chair of the professional development committee. Her contributions included bi-monthly webinars for NEGAP membership as well as coordinating the most recent NEGAP Annual Conference held at Sacred Heart University. She recently took on a new role in Graduate Admissions at SHU after serving the University of Bridgeport for two years.
"I'm really pleased to have Ariana join us on the board," said Marcus Hanscom, NEGAP president. "Her efforts have added significant value to our members since she joined us more than a year ago and one would be hard-pressed to find someone more hard-working and committed than Ariana."
"I'm really confident in the direction of the organization moving forward," Hanscom added. "We have some extremely talented professionals that will build a strong future for NEGAP."
NEGAP staggers its board positions to ensure successful transition, electing two of its four board positions every other year beginning with its most recent election. The organization will elect a new president and treasurer in June 2014.
