Due to the inclement weather, the University will cancel all classes at all locations as of 1:00 p.m. today through and including Wednesday January 28, 2015. Classes will resume on Thursday January 29, 2015, at their regularly scheduled times at all locations. All University offices will close at 4:30 p.m. today through Tuesday January 27, 2015. A decision on reopening the University will be made Tuesday evening and notification to all employees will be made. SHU Among Best Colleges for Veterans According to U.S. News and World Report

U.S. News and World Report has included Sacred Heart University on its inaugural list of the Best Colleges for Veterans. Sacred Heart was among 234 colleges selected from those that participate in federal initiatives helping veterans and active service members apply, pay for and complete their degrees. SHU was ranked in the top 10 for regional universities in the North.

The rankings only include numerically ranked schools in the 2014 edition of the U.S.News Best Colleges that meet each of the following criteria:

  • Belonging to an institution that is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) Consortium
  • Belonging to an institution certified for the GI Bill
  • Belonging to an institution participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program

U.S. News ranked these qualifying schools numerically and in descending order based on their 2014 Best Colleges ranks. There are 234 ranked schools across 10 separate ranking categories: National Universities, National Liberal Arts Colleges, Regional Universities (North, South, Midwest and West) and Regional Colleges (North, South, Midwest and West).
