SHU Choir Members Perform at Voices of September 11th Commemorative Luncheon in NYC

News Story: September 1, 2011
Members of SHU vocal ensembles were applauded by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, right, during the Voices of
September 11th Commemorative Luncheon.

Ten years after the terrorists attacks on the United States, 40 members of SHU’s vocal ensembles 4 Heart Harmony and SHU L.O.V.E. (Ladies Only Vocal Ensemble) journeyed to New York City to take part in one of the many commemorative events held on Sunday, September 11, 2011.  Mary Fetchet, the founding director of Voices of September 11th, invited the choruses to perform songs to uplift all those gathered at its annual commemorative luncheon, held in the shadow of the newly opened World Trade Center Memorial.  In attendance were many survivors of the victims with a special visit from U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. To see additional photos from this event, CLICK HERE.
