Mary Lou DeRosa Named as Vice Provost for Special Academic Programs

Mary Lou DeRosa, MBA, has been named vice provost for Special Academic Programs at Sacred Heart University. She previously served as dean of University College. She began her service at SHU in 1995 and has served in many administrative roles since then. In her new role, she will manage the enrollments for 700 part-time adult students and the regional Stamford campus. In addition, the University College portfolio includes winter and summer intersession and noncredit units – The Center for Financial Education and English as a Second Language. Additional responsibilities will include online initiatives as well as summer programs for high school students. She also co-chairs the Strategic Planning Financial Strengths Committee.
A native of Sharon, Pennsylvania, Mary Lou received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from the University of Dayton and MBA from Sacred Heart University. She is a graduate of the 2008 class of the HERS Institute at Wellesley College, the 2005 Business Council of Fairfield County Leadership Class and the 2003 UPenn Entrepreneurship in Education Institute.
She serves on the boards of the Fairfield County Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, Unquowa School and the Human Capital Committee for the Fairfield County Business Council. She is also a member of the University Continuing Education Association, Association of Continuing Higher Education, and Society of Human Resource Managers.
Mary Lou resides in Fairfield, Connecticut.
