The Watermark at 3030 Park is pleased to present student artwork from Sacred Heart University’s (SHU) Department of Graphic Design and Visual Arts.  Student work is currently available for the public to view at The Watermark’s Gallery Café through December 5.

Ten students are represented in the exhibition: Jaclyn Fede of Massapequa Park, New York; Melissa Macdonald of Darien, CT; Chris Balzano of North Branford, CT; Maria Damianou of Monroe, CT; Kelly Gilleran of Redding, CT; Amy Rossi of Madison, CT; Aaron Rauth of Scarborough, Maine; Bryan Carmel of Manchester, CT; Julia Goldstein of Bellingham, MA; and Michelle Navarro of Piscataway, NJ.

“Part of the creative process is sharing your work with the public so that you can receive feedback and appreciation for all your hard work,” said Professor Nathan Lewis, Assistant Professor of Art at SHU.  “The residents of The Watermark at 3030 Park expressed how much they love seeing artwork from our students, and we are very excited to have the opportunity to display student work again at the community.”

Last fall, The Watermark at 3030 Park partnered with the Department of Graphic Design and Visual Arts and The Gallery of Contemporary Art at SHU for its first student exhibition at the retirement community located on the Bridgeport/Fairfield line.

As part of its growing partnership with SHU, The Watermark at 3030 Park will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a student that has participated in an exhibition at the community.  The award winner will be chosen by the art and design faculty at SHU, and the scholarship will be awarded in March during the annual student show at The Gallery of Contemporary Art on the SHU campus.

The student gallery at The Watermark at 3030 Park is open to the public Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  For more information, please call The Watermark at 3030 Park at 203-374-5611.
