This multi-national trio is well versed in the various Brasilian styles of music --- Samba, Bossa Nova, Baiao, Choro. By combining this music with straight-ahead Hard Bop Jazz the trio creates a style known as Brasilian Jazz. Think: “Jobim meets Coltrane”. The trio’s repertoire is a combination of original tunes and songs by some of Brasil’s classic composers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Ary Barroso, Baden Powell, Noel Rosa, Dorival Caymmi, Pixinguinha and others. By adding the improvisational aspect of North American Jazz to the mixture the group creates a unique “fusion” sound and one that has entertained audiences on four continents. Highlights have included concerts and club appearances in Paris, Bombay, Corsica, Stuttgart and Rio de Janeiro.
