WSHU's 'Join the Conversation' Lecture Series Presents
Composed: A Memoir By Rosanne
Tuesday, August 16th at 7pm
University Commons, Sacred Heart University
Few contemporary singer-songwriters have enjoyed as much critical and commercial success as Rosanne Cash. After 30 years as a performer she continues to release albums noted as much for their intelligence and risk-taking as for their richly resonant lyrics. Cash will discuss her candid and inspirational New York Times bestselling memoir, Composed, and will share memories of growing up as Johnny Cash’s eldest child and how she has come into her own as a performer, daughter and mother. Cash has recorded 14 albums charting 21 Top 40 country singles, many of which have risen to #1. She has two gold records and received 11 Grammy nominations, including her duet with Bruce Springsteen, Sea of Heartbreak, which was nominated for an “Album of the Year” Grammy in the Americana category. Rosanne Cash is also author of Bodies of Water and the children’s book Penelope Jane: A Fairy’s Tale.
