Earth Day Activities

On Friday, April 29th, Earth Day Activities will include:

10am-3pm – Visit display tables set-up by Campus Operations environmental vendors. Learn how their products & services help SHU in our sustainability efforts. SEE: alternate fuel vehicles; single-stream recycling; electronics reclaim; landscaping efforts; bottle/ can recycling; entry mats cleaning for the environment. Don’t miss the solar-powered trash compacting unit called “BIG BELLY.” (Location - Dining Hall lawn and HC Walk)
10am-12pm and 12pm-2pm (two shifts) – Volunteer work in the St. Martha Community Garden (Location - On the hill behind Park Avenue House)
11:30am-12:30pm – Join Campus OPS staff in doing a “CAMPUS SWEEP” to remove any debris from the campus from Scholars Commons to WSHU and the North Parking Lot (Location – Meet at the Seton-Merton planter)
1pm-2pm – Continue the “CAMPUS SWEEP” on campus and in various Bridgeport locations (CWC, Roncalli, Nancy Drive, South Parking, SC wing. Location - MEET at the Seton-Merton planter)
2pm – Meet on the Dining Hall lawn for the blessing of a tree that will be planted outside of the new Student Commons.
