SHU Cosponsors International Conference on the Experience of Music
The program features a lecture by Dr. Marc-Mathieu Münch, who will introduce his general theory of art and show its impact on the study and teaching of music. His lecture will be followed by an interdisciplinary discussion with the following faculty members: Professors Friedhelm Brusniak (Musical Education), Ekkehard Roch (Musicology), Norbert Klaes (Religious Studies), Karl-Heinz Lembeck (Philosophy), and Jean Ehret (Religious Studies). Father Ehret is an adjunct professor at Sacred Heart Luxembourg and was chaplain at the University’s main campus in Connecticut.
Dr. Münch’s research has been explored at international conferences and in important publications. It offers a substantial contribution to a different approach to intercultural and interdisciplinary studies. In 2006, he presented a public lecture on general aesthetics at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. His paper, "Comparative Poetics and the Global Definition of Literature: A New Literary Aesthetics," has been published; a copy may be ordered for free by contacting Prof. Ehret at jehret@shu.lu.
