In Memoriam: Father Michael McLernon

Father Michael McLernon, former chaplain at Sacred Heart University, died on Christmas Day in West Allis, Wisconsin. He was Associate Director of Spiritual and Human Formation at Sacred Heart School of Theology in Franklin, Wisconsin, since 2000, and had headed SHU’s Campus Ministry programs prior to that assignment. He was 77 and had been a priest for 52 years.

Father McLernon held a Master of Education degree and a Certified Addiction Specialist certification from Johns Hopkins University. Ordained in 1957, he was a priest of the Diocese of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He had served as a parish priest in Pennsylvania and as a campus administrator in Virginia, New Jersey and Connecticut.
