SHU and Notre Dame Club to Sponsor Folk Mass in Chapel of the Holy Spirit
Liturgy to Bless New Volunteers on Irish Mission
The Notre Dame Club of Fairfield County and Sacred Heart University are co-sponsoring a Mass at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 30th, at the University’s Chapel of the Holy Spirit. The Mass will be celebrated for four recent Notre Dame University graduates (Carolyn Pirtle, Jessica Mannen, Clarisa Ramos and Patrick Duffey) before they depart for Wexford, Ireland, the following day for a year of dedicated service to the Church of the Annunciation, in Clonard.
“Teach Bhride,” or House of Brigid, originally was conceived as an initiative of the Notre Dame Folk Choir in cooperation with the Diocese of Ferns in County Wexford, Ireland. The American non-for-profit organization invites recent graduates of the Folk Choir to live as an intentional lay community for one year, dedicating themselves to the service of the Irish Catholic Church and to spiritual and personal formation.
